This week, we get to find wonderful ways to love and nurture ourselves when painful memories arise.
Most survivors of trauma become very adept at pushing away and shoving aside the pain of the past, using denial, or anger, or dissociation.
Yet – the pain keeps coming back. And it will, until it is faced and dealt with.
But one super powerful step in that process is actually just nurturing ourselves in these moments. Learning to just be with the pain, but to wrap ourselves (and our inner child) in love and reassurance.
